Description

The Pressing Module is a unit for producing Smart Concrete using high-temperature vibrocompression technology. The raw material for making concrete is unrefined lunar soil, which means that useful mineral elements become part of the concrete along with the slag.

The mixture obtained is thoroughly mixed until a uniform consistency is achieved, then placed into molds for the future blocks. The mixture in the molds is then heated and simultaneously pressed with high-frequency vibration. The vibrations create mechanical oscillations in the materials, which contribute to the compression and densification of the regolith inside the mold. This treatment allows for the quick production of a durable building material suitable for use on both the Moon and Earth. This technology was developed and certified by CRUST in 2057 with the participation of ACIL as part of the "First Step" project.
