About
"UMCOM" is the Unified Martian Command. It is a special body created by the UN and Crust in 2066 to manage Martian settlements and organize their centralized interaction with the Earth and the Moon. "UMCOM" manages the cities of Unity, Gagarin, Shepard, and Leavey, as well as many small settlements, research stations, and facilities. The history of Mars exploration has been long and difficult, but it now has half a dozen large autonomous settlements with a total population of sixty thousand. Martian settlements are fully self-sufficient, but some industries have just begun their development and are unable to cover all the needs of the Martians.
