Introduction
In The Crust you can research and apply upgrades to already existing buildings. These upgrades improve efficiency, speed or energy consumption of their respected machines.
Building Upgrades
Building upgrades are researched via the research tree. Researching an upgrade unlocks it for construction. When in the machine interface of an already built building you can spend Credits on installing an upgrade.
Vehicle Upgrades
Vehicle upgrades are applied immediately upon research with no further cost. With a look at the Vehicle hangar description this seems to be planned for change in a future upgrade.
